Dubai SANDS is a branch of the UK-based Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society.
Established in 1994, Dubai SANDS comprises a group of parents who have lost much-loved babies. We work on a voluntary basis to support other families experiencing this tragedy.
Our primary aim is to provide support to other bereaved parents in Dubai. Our befrienders are available to provide you with the support you need, when you feel you need it — whether that’s very soon after the death of your baby, 6 or 12 months on, or many years later.

Our befrienders and meetings give you the chance to talk about your baby and any emotions you are feeling, and to get practical advice. We understand the very complex, overwhelming emotions you may feel, as well as the feelings of isolation which often follow the death of a baby.
We will do so whether your loss is through late miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or termination for medical reasons.
We also work with hospitals in Dubai, providing advice and support to health care professionals who need to support bereaved parents.
